Helping Customers Reach the Cloud Benefits

Post • 3 min read

Get to know Klas and his story! With strong background in change and product management in IT, Klas Erikson started at Nordcloud as a Cloud Advisor and is nowadays heading Nordcloud's delivery and operations in Sweden, Norway and Denmark from our Stockholm office.

1. Where are you from and how did you end up at Nordcloud?

I am from Stockholm, Sweden and have been working most of my career in Telia here in Stockholm. I left Telia after the organisation had, yet another time, changed and I felt I needed to try something completely different. I had already started talking with my old colleague working for Nordcloud and was fascinated by a company in such fast growth.

2. What is your core competence? On top of that, please also tell about your role and projects shortly.

My core competence is very large scale change management and product management in IT. I have worked as a program owner, initiated growth and finally brought one of the biggest infrastructure migrations and consolidations in the Nordics to an end. Here at Nordcloud I have been working as a cloud advisor and conducting presales and bid work as well as in assignments with project management, strategy, migrations, etc. Also, I have been acting as country manager for Norway and have recently assumed the role as head of delivery and operations in Scandinavia.

This is all about ensuring we have the right people with the right competencies to match the customer engagements we have. We can do this either through our own staff in Scandinavia or by getting help from talented employees from other parts of Nordcloud.

3. What sets you on fire / what’s your favourite thing technically with public cloud?

I like the technical drive in Nordcloud, it is truly a technically built company. If you know the right things you can achieve stuff that would require loads of more people otherwise. I am also overwhelmed by the speed of innovation from the hyperscalers. Their speed and scale will make it unnecessary to provide IT in any other format.

4. What do you like most about working at Nordcloud?

NC is a bit of a rough diamond. There is so much growth and so much competence around. Great to be able to hear very competent colleagues presenting and explaining things in their fields. At the same time Nordcloud is not “ready” yet, what worked when there were fewer people, won't necessarily work when there are more. How to handle that is an exciting challenge.

5. What is the most useful thing you have learned at Nordcloud?

I have moved much more into the sales area and direct customer contact. That besides learning all about the usage of the cloud are my greatest takeaways so far.

6. What do you do outside work?

I have a dog and three kids and I am a soccer trainer for one of them, my 11 year old daughter. That and trying to keep in shape myself, pretty much takes care of any spare time.

7. How would you describe Nordcloud’s culture in 3 words?

Tech-oriented

Informal

Intense (as in borderline chaotic due to the growth)

8. Best Nordcloudian memory?

Great presentations for Norwegian Air Shuttle when we show all the knowledge in the company and what it can provide for the customers.
