Nordcloud is one of only 2 European players in Gartner´s Magic Quadrant for Public Cloud Infrastructure Managed Services Providers 2018. We are proud to be an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, a Google Cloud Premier Partner and a Microsoft Gold Cloud Partner and Azure Expert MSP.

We offer a full-time position as an AWS Cloud Architect in our small and highly skilled team in Bjørvika, in the heart of Oslo.

Oslo is currently one of the fastest-growing cities in Europe. Situated between mountain ranges and at the head of the beautiful Oslofjord, the city has everything to offer in terms of outdoor activities. The recent years’ boom in everything from underground music, niche art, tasty microbrewery beers, the vibrant tech community with lots of meet-up groups and several hacker- and maker spaces, means there is always something to do.

As an AWS Cloud Architect, you’ll find yourself participating in various customer projects, from new infrastructure builds and migrations, to audits and big data. Day-to-day work can be anything from implementing configuration management infrastructure to taking a step back and giving workshops and design recommendations to a technical team. Furthermore, you will become a trusted advisor for high profile enterprise businesses and jointly manage the customer relationship and roadmap with the Nordcloud Sales team. All in all, you’ll have a selection of different ‘hats’ to put on and have the luxury of following customer projects from start to release.

Ideally, you’re bringing the following skills with you:

  • Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge about Amazon Web Services (Google Cloud and/or Azure is a plus)
  • Customer service attitude
  • A background as Linux/Windows system administrator or backend developer
  • Have a solid understanding of on-premises technologies (e.g. VMware, OpenStack or Hyper-V)
  • Large scale application deployment and management
  • Creating solution architectures for availability, performance and cost
  • Configuration management systems (one of Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar) and container technologies (e.g. Kubernetes, Mesosphere, Docker Swarm)
  • Continuous integration/continuous deployment environments
  • Scripting skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of your time

All in all, you have a solid engineering/technical background/hands-on experience with conceptualising, strategizing and architecting cloud solutions. And it would also be a plus if you understand security, network, virtualization, load balancer, storage and database.

To give you an idea what kind of a person we are looking for here is a small story of how we work. We all work directly with customers and each of us must be able to explain technical content to people who might be less familiar with the technology. Working with different people and teams is not a problem for us. To us delivering quality solutions is more important than “just getting the job done”. We don’t either mind travelling through one of the world’s most beautiful countries.

Why Nordcloud as your next career move?

    • Interesting projects and a chance to work with a variety of high-profile customers from several industries
    • Possibility to gather valued certificates and participate in world-class courses and training, you can choose from various courses to ensure continuous learning
    • Lots of opportunities to develop your expertise while working together with our leading European Cloud Professionals
    • Flexibility in working hours and place
