Team Lead, Application Development & Design

We are excited to launch two new offices in Kuopio and Oulu and are currently looking for Team Leads for the new sites. We are also looking for a Team Lead in our Jyväskylä office. In this role, you will be a major force in driving our community and company forward while constantly developing your specialist skills in hands-on customer projects.

A Nordcloud Team Lead won’t find an ivory tower on their otherwise extensive selection of perks. Our company is all about new opportunities, learning, and making fast and fearless progress to push the industry forward. Hence team leadership is about enabling everyone to spot and seize career opportunities equally, find their personal role in our vision and strategy, take part in company development activities and tap into communication and collaboration across the organization.

Our Team Leads form a tight-knit community and have access to training, support, and mutual ways of working. While the community is a big part of any Team Lead’s role, what is further accented at an emerging site is establishing a solid connection with both our global community and the local community all the way from scratch – in collaboration with committed colleagues.

Our experience is that this all works best when the Team Leads themselves are peer specialists who share their team members’ ambitions. A Team Lead’s personal specialist focus can range from cloud platforms to progressive web apps, digital design, IoT, big data, agile, and beyond.

If working closely with talented people, driving forward the team and community, and taking part in hands-on projects get you going – we suggest you keep reading!

Your daily work:

  • You are working as a people lead for the local team, creating an environment for people to prosper and helping them to connect to our global community.
  • You contribute to the local site development in our newly launched sites. This will be supported by various functions and colleagues of the company to cover HR, office space management, etc.
  • You would also take part in hands-on project work alongside the local site development (approx. 50-80% of your working time).
  • You proactively contribute to local networking and community building in the local area.
  • You assist in recruitment, taking an active role in establishing your team.
  • Preferably, you would also contribute to our international tech community (internal knowledge sharing, workshops, case studies, best practices, boilerplates, etc.).

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong background working as a specialist in the field of software, be it software development, design, big data, agile, cloud platforms, etc.
  • Experience with leading people and having a genuine passion to support the people & teams to succeed.
  • Passion for contributing to the local community.
  • Great organizational and networking skills.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and readiness to travel (subject to covid).

Why Nordcloud as your next career move?

  • In this role, you will be in a key position in supporting our growth in the local area and combining it with our global practices.
  • Lots of opportunities to develop your expertise and for professional growth. You get access to relevant training & knowledge sharing sessions to support the growth and work with a community of leading cloud professionals. We grow together in our learning community!
  • We are continuously developing our business – which means we’re not stuck with the attitude of doing things as they’ve always been done.
  • Flexible working hours and freedom to choose your tools and ways of working.
  • Wide range of benefits like private health care, certificates paid, wellness & public transportation benefits, high-end laptop and a smartphone of your choice, etc.
  • Events & fun – besides all your interesting work assignments, feel free to enjoy our extra-curricular activities such as clubs, virtual coffees, after work, etc. And of course, we welcome new activities open-heartedly if you have anything in mind!
