Managed Cloud Database Reliability Engineer

In Nordcloud you’ll be joining a group of database professionals with decades of experience from various data platforms and industries. In the role of Managed Cloud DBRE, you’ll be supporting our customers to manage their cloud workloads and working closely with our cloud architects, senior Database Reliability engineers, and Managed Cloud engineers to build a reliable DBRE service.

Your day-to-day work in our team will be primarily helping our customers manage their data assets in the public cloud platforms, but also migrating database workloads to the cloud, performing health checks and performance tuning of databases, building solutions to automate the DBRE Service, and taking part in modernization projects for existing customers.

As a Managed Cloud DBRE, you will support various database technologies, including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DB2 – PaaS and IaaS. You will also have the opportunity to work on multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Being a Database Reliability Engineer you will work with:

  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle DB
  • DB2
  • PostgreSQL
  • MySQL
  • AWS/Azure/GCP

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience in database administration in SQL Server, Oracle or DB2 (minimum 2 years with one of the engines)
  • Skills in supporting database high availability solutions
  • Skills in various database migrations
  • Skills in performance tuning databases schemas, indexes, and queries
  • Experience from working directly with external customers
  • Skills in automation and scripting
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics in English

Skills that will be considered beneficial:

  • Skills with PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Skills with NoSQL databases
  • Skills with Terraform or Ansible
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
