DevOps Cloud Engineer

Are you driven by continuous learning? Do you appreciate an environment where you get to work with various different solutions using state-of-the-art technologies?

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Platform and Tools (PAT) Team, working with Nordcloud’s SaaS product Klarity.

The successful candidate will be involved in a multitude of customer-facing projects, varying from traditional cloud migration projects, to DevOps enablement focussing on a more collaborative approach to building platforms on a greenfield of the Cloud environment. Furthermore, the candidate will become a trusted advisor for high-profile enterprise customers.

If you prioritize consistently strong performance, rapid and eager learning, and will seek to understand the Nordcloud offering, market, customers, and suppliers, then you are the kind of person we would love to have on our team. We look for some of the following core values from our people:

  • you continually learn, improve your skills and industry knowledge;
  • you are able to articulate complex technical solutions to any target audience;
  • you treat everyone the same, with respect while speaking your mind;
  • you focus on creating quality, targeted and valuable work for our customers;
  • when you think you have a better idea, you put it forward and challenge tradition;
  • you are always looking to make things less complex where possible, enabling our agility;
  • the risks you take are smart, well thought out, and usually pay off;
  • you are an inspiration to others, both at Customers, Partners, and within Nordcloud;
  • you own your mistakes and admit to them quickly, help others with theirs and expect the same in return;
  • you have a high level of confidence in what you can do and how to communicate it best

Phew, it sounds like so much, but in truth, we know that some people are this way already and this will read like the ideal role for you. Being part of the Nordcloud team, you can expect others to uphold these core values too, allowing us to focus on real work. If you are a successful applicant you will help scale Nordcloud by applying your knowledge and experience of:

  • Linux Operating Systems,
  • at least one Configuration Management tool such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible,
  • automation techniques using Python, Jenkins, Docker, etc.
  • system administration, with a good understanding of shell, OS’s, software installation techniques and image creation,
  • operating and provisioning systems at scale, preferably in the public cloud,
  • modern monitoring and logging solutions, such as Datadog, NewRelic, Splunk, ELK, etc,
  • Agile and/or DevOps culture and how important it is to the success of Cloud Adoption,
  • building platforms in Amazon Web Services and/or Azure Cloud Platforms, at a minimum you should have exposure to either of these Cloud Service Providers
